Motorcycle PPF, fitted to the bike.

A motorcycle exposes far more painted bodywork than a car. The tank, fairings and nose take every rock chip, bug and riding-gear scuff directly. 3M film takes them instead.

Short answer

How much does motorcycle PPF cost?

It is quoted to the bike. Motorcycles vary enormously in bodywork, and the final price depends on the motorcycle, the panels you want covered, how complex they are and the film. Tell us the make and model and which panels, and you get a real number. Every install is 3M film.

Where the film goes

Coverage mapped to how you ride.

Because so much of a motorcycle’s paint is exposed, coverage goes on the panels that take the contact and the impacts — not a one-size sheet.

Tank & knee areas

Quoted

The fuel tank is the most exposed painted surface on the bike, and the tank sides take boot and knee contact on every ride.

Why bikes are different

Motorcycle PPF is its own job.

A car’s film pattern goes onto large, gentle curves. A motorcycle is the opposite.

Why is it not just the car process, smaller?

Because the surfaces are fundamentally different. A sculpted tank, a compound-curved fairing and a tight opening around a vent all need the film worked, heated and stretched differently from a flat hood. Tight edges and small panels leave less margin for error, not more.

More time goes into each panel, which is why pricing is quoted to the bike.

Can film go over custom paint or carbon?

Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons riders ask. Custom paint, carbon parts and limited-production bodywork are expensive or impossible to redo, and film is the cheapest insurance on them.

Tell us about any custom finish when you ask for a quote.

Does it pair with ceramic coating?

Yes. Film stops the impact; coating makes the whole bike, film included, easier to clean. Many riders film the tank and fairings and coat everything.

Motorcycle ceramic coating is $599 including the Platinum detail.

Where we work

Motorcycle PPF across El Paso County.

Motorcycles are worked on in the shop at 2725 N Nevada Ave.

Motorcycle detailing, bike detailing, chrome polishing and motorcycle ceramic coating are one trade: a machine with far more exposed surfaces than a car and a lot of small places to get into. We work on cruisers, touring bikes, sport bikes, adventure bikes and customs.

Front Range riding means bugs on the fairing, sand and mag chloride on the lowers in spring, and sun at altitude on a painted tank all summer.

Tell us the make, model and what it needs. You get a real price before you bring it in.
