Ceramic coating maintenance, $199.

A decontamination wash, the coating checked panel by panel, and a Gtechniq top-up where it has thinned. It is what keeps a nine-year coating on track to actually reach nine years.

Short answer

How much does ceramic coating maintenance cost?

$199. A decontamination wash, the coating inspected panel by panel, and a Gtechniq top-up on any panel where it has thinned. Gtechniq’s guarantee also asks for a yearly inspection by the installer, and that inspection is free — if the coating needs attention, this is the service that handles it.

What is included

Three steps, one price.

Coatings do not fail evenly. They thin at the leading edges first, where the car meets the weather.

Step 1

Decontamination wash

Included

A safe wash plus decontamination to lift bonded iron, tar and mineral deposits that dull the coating.

  • Safe hand wash
  • Iron and fallout removed
  • Mineral deposits treated
  • Beading restored

Best for: Every coated car.

Step 2

Panel-by-panel check

Included

Every panel inspected, with the hood, mirrors and front bumper looked at hardest.

  • Leading edges first
  • Hood, mirrors, bumper
  • Water behaviour checked
  • What you are told, honestly

Best for: Every coated car.

Step 3

Gtechniq top-up

$199starting

Where the coating has thinned, a Gtechniq top-up goes back on those panels.

  • Top-up where thinned
  • Gtechniq products only
  • Keeps the guarantee on track
  • Done in-shop

Best for: Coatings past year one.

Why it matters

Caught at year three, it is a top-up.

Left until year six, it is a correction and a re-coat.

Do ceramic coatings need maintenance?

Yes. A coating makes the car easier to keep clean; it does not make it self-cleaning. Bonded contamination — iron fallout, road film, mineral deposits from hard water — sits on top of the coating and masks the beading. A decontamination wash takes it back off.

Most coatings that look tired at year three were washed badly, not worn out.

What about the Gtechniq guarantee?

Gtechniq’s terms require the vehicle to be inspected every twelve months by the installer, and the inspection itself is free. Miss it and the cover lapses. If the coating is fine, we tell you and you are on your way.

If it wants attention, the $199 maintenance handles it: decontamination, a panel-by-panel check and a top-up where it has thinned.

Can I do it myself?

The washing, yes — pH-neutral shampoo, two buckets, a clean mitt, and no automatic brushes. The aftercare page has the full routine.

The inspection and top-up are the part that needs someone who knows what a thinning coating looks like.

Where we work

Ceramic coating maintenance across El Paso County.

Done in the shop at 2725 N Nevada Ave. Customers drive in from across the county.

ST6 North Nevada is the in-shop location: detailing, paint correction, Gtechniq ceramic coating, 3M paint protection film, window tint and vinyl, all under one roof in controlled light.

At 6,035 feet the sun is harder on paint, plastics and leather than at sea level, and winter leaves magnesium chloride and sand on everything. Most of what we fix is Colorado doing what Colorado does.

Maintenance questions

The things people actually ask.

Answered straight. If yours is not here, call the shop and ask.

01How much does ceramic coating maintenance cost?

$199 for a decontamination wash, a panel-by-panel inspection and a Gtechniq top-up where the coating has thinned.

02How often should a ceramic coating be maintained?

Gtechniq’s guarantee requires an inspection every twelve months by the installer. The inspection is free; maintenance is booked if the coating needs it.

03Do I need maintenance if I wash the car myself?

Washing correctly is the biggest part. Bonded contamination and thinning at the leading edges still need a decontamination and a check.

04Can you maintain a coating another shop installed?

We can decontaminate and inspect any coating. Top-ups and guarantee inspections are done on Gtechniq coatings.

05How long does it take?

Usually a few hours.
