Paint and chrome

Why coat a bike at all?

Bugs, road grime and brake dust bond to an uncoated bike. They slide off a coated one.

What does a coating do for a motorcycle?

It gives the paint and chrome a hard, slick, hydrophobic surface. Bug splatter, road film and grime do not bond as easily, so a rinse and a wipe does what used to take scrubbing. The gloss holds through the riding season rather than fading with every wash.

On a bike, where so many surfaces are small and fiddly, easier cleaning is most of the point.

Is it safe on chrome?

Yes. The coating goes on painted and chrome surfaces alike, after both have been polished in the Platinum detail. Chrome that has been coated stays bright longer and water-spots less.

Tell us about bare metal, raw aluminium or powder coat when you book so each surface gets the right treatment.

How long does it last?

A properly prepped Gtechniq coating is built to hold up for a full riding season and beyond. Exact longevity depends on storage and how often and how hard the bike is ridden.

A bike kept covered or garaged over winter holds a coating far longer than one left outside.

Years in the trade

Seventeen-plus years of professional detailing. Reading a surface before touching it is the part of the job that experience buys, and it decides every step after it.

In the shop

Motorcycles are in-shop work at 2725 N Nevada Ave, on a stand, in controlled light.

Chrome, paint and powder coat

Each surface gets the right product. What is safe on paint is not always safe on bare metal or powder coat.

You know who is working on it

A local, family-run shop — Dana Starr, his two sons and a crew he has worked with for years. Licensed, insured and bonded. The same people quote the job and do the job.

Where we work

Motorcycle ceramic coating across El Paso County.

Motorcycles are worked on in the shop at 2725 N Nevada Ave.

Motorcycle detailing, bike detailing, chrome polishing and motorcycle ceramic coating are one trade: a machine with far more exposed surfaces than a car and a lot of small places to get into. We work on cruisers, touring bikes, sport bikes, adventure bikes and customs.

Front Range riding means bugs on the fairing, sand and mag chloride on the lowers in spring, and sun at altitude on a painted tank all summer.

Tell us the make, model and what it needs. You get a real price before you bring it in.

The things people actually ask.

Answered straight. If yours is not here, call the shop and ask.

$599 starting, and it includes the full Platinum Motorcycle Detail — wash, decontamination and a machine polish pass — before the Gtechniq coating is applied.

02Is it safe on chrome and powder coat?

It goes on painted and chrome surfaces. Tell us about powder coat, bare metal or raw aluminium when you book so each surface is handled correctly.

03How long does motorcycle ceramic coating last?
