I brought my Audi R8 to ST6 Detailers for a 5-year ceramic coating over the vinyl wrap and also elected to have the rims re-coated. This is a show car, so I’m extremely careful about who I allow to work on it.
It was honestly a relief to bring the car to a company that knew exactly what they were doing and wasn’t learning or being trained on my vehicle. I’ve had some bad experiences with shops in the past, and finding someone with the proper experience and attention to detail to work on an R8 is harder than you would think.
The car came out phenomenal. The wrap looks incredible, the wheels came out great, and the level of care they took with the entire vehicle was exactly what I was looking for. I would absolutely trust ST6 Detailers with my R8 again and highly recommend them to anyone with a high-end or specialty vehicle.

ST6 Clear Bra & Ceramic Coatings in Colorado Springs did an incredible job on my Blue BMW M5! I went with their Lifetime Ceramic Coating Package, and the results are outstanding. They coated my rims, glass, painted surfaces, and trim, leaving everything looking better than showroom new.
Dana and his team are true professionals — extremely knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and passionate about what they do. You can tell they take pride in their work. If you’re looking for high-quality ceramic coating, paint protection film (PPF), or clear bra services in Colorado Springs, I highly recommend ST6 Ceramic Coatings.
They’re hands down the best in the business for performance finishes and long-term protection.

Second car I’ve had done by ST6. They are on time, professional, and super friendly. Dana has worked with me both times and done a fantastic job. Only place I will go to for any detailing or ceramic coating.
I wanted to get my brand new 2026 Ford F-150 undercoated to help protect the frame and undercarriage from rust and corrosion, especially with Colorado winters. I heard these guys use Fluid Film, so I decided to give them a try. Brought my truck in and they did the entire undercoating for $350. Phenomenal job! They were thorough, knew exactly what they were doing, and the price was very reasonable. Definitely recommend these guys if you’re looking to protect your vehicle long-term.
WOW is the word I use to describe the way both my scruffy Volvo and I were treated! My 2013 Volvo now, due to fast-friendly-and a highly skilled crew looks as sweet as the day I bought it in 2013!

Why it fades
Why does Chevy Avalanche cladding turn gray? Twenty years of sun.
The Avalanche body panels are unpainted, textured plastic with no clear coat over them. On trucks that are now 20 years old, UV has broken down the surface until it goes chalky gray. At 6,035 feet, Colorado Springs gets more UV than sea-level cities, and winter mag chloride dries the plastic out faster.
- Biggest panels on any truckThe cladding runs the full length of the doors, fenders and bed, so the fading shows from across a parking lot.
- Sail panels fade firstThey face straight up into the sun, so they are usually the grayest piece.
- Shiny dressings wash offSilicone sits on top, looks good for a week and the gray comes back.
Gray cladding on yours? It is oxidation, and it comes back black.
Paint, restore or remove
Should you paint Avalanche cladding or restore it? Restore it.
Painting the cladding is the other option owners look at. It changes the look of the truck, the textured plastic needs special prep to hold paint, and the lower panels take rock chips all day. Restoring keeps the factory texture and the factory look, and it can be touched up any time.
- Restore · $150Keeps the factory texture and black color. Nothing to peel or chip. About 3 hours.
- Paint itA body shop job. The plastic has to be prepped for paint, and chips show on the lower panels.
- Go without claddingSome 2003 to 2006 trucks left the factory with body-color panels. Converting yours is body work, not detailing.

How ST6 does it
What happens during an Avalanche trim restore? Four steps. Prep is most of it.
- 01DegreaseEvery panel is degreased so old dressing, wax and road film are off the plastic.
- 02Dry 100%Water in the texture makes the color go on blotchy, so the truck dries completely first.
- 03Work it inThin, even passes worked into the texture on every panel, flare, bumper and sail panel.
- 04Edge checkEvery edge where plastic meets paint is checked, then it stays away from water for 6 hours.
Keep it dry for 6 hours. If rain is in the forecast we will tell you before you pick it up.

How much does it cost to restore Chevy Avalanche cladding in Colorado Springs?
$150 for the whole truck at ST6 Detailers, 2725 N Nevada Ave. Add an Exterior Wash and Spray Wax for $100, or add the full restore to any ST6 detail package for $100.
Should I paint my Avalanche cladding or restore it?
Restore it unless you want a different look. Restoring keeps the factory texture and black color and can be touched up any time. Paint on textured plastic needs special prep, and the lower panels take constant rock chips.
What parts of the Avalanche are included?
All of the exterior plastic: body side panels on the doors, fenders and bed, front and rear fender flares, front and rear bumper covers, sail panels, bed rail caps, door handles and mirror housings.
Can you restore the rear bumper on a 2002 Avalanche?
Yes. The 2002 rear bumper cover and step pad are part of the $150 restore, along with the front bumper.
How long does it take?
About 3 hours in the shop. Most of that is prep: degreasing every panel and letting the texture dry completely.
How long does the restored cladding last?
Months, not a week. The restorer soaks into the plastic and dries to the touch instead of sitting on top like a silicone dressing. Sun and winter mag chloride wear on it over time, and a touch-up brings it back.
When can I wash it or drive in the rain?
Keep the restored cladding away from water for at least 6 hours. After that, normal hand washes are fine.
Will the restorer get on my paint?
Not when it is done right. We work up to every edge where the cladding meets paint, then go back over each one so no dye is left on the body.
