Prep and hand levelling
Decon, clay and correction come first, then the coating is levelled panel by panel. That’s most of the result. Even new cars need it.
We get asked this a lot. Short version: how a coating turns out depends mostly on the prep, not the bottle. Here’s what the price difference pays for.

They aren’t the same product at two prices. A lot of the cheap “ceramic” products online are spray sealants. They look great for a few months. With an installed Gtechniq coating, the paint gets decontaminated and corrected first, the coating is levelled by hand, and the install is registered. Most of what you pay for is that prep.
We think Gtechniq is the best coating out there. It’s the only one we install. But we’d rather you decide with real information, whether you hire us or do it yourself.
Three things a bottle can’t give you: the prep and hand levelling, coatings only accredited installers can buy, and a registered record with a guarantee.

Crystal Serum Ultra is released to accredited installers only. Applied wrong, it has to be sanded off.

Every ST6 coating is registered on Carfax, and Crystal Serum Ultra carries Gtechniq’s nine-year guarantee. What that means at resale.
Check six things before you buy anything that says “ceramic”: how it goes on, how long it really lasts, whether it asks for prep, its cure instructions, who stands behind it and who’s allowed to buy it.
When you’re topping up an existing coating, or treating wheels and glass. Sprays are a maintenance tool, not a substitute for a coating.

A compatible topper between washes keeps the beading strong. Maintenance handles the rest.

Wheels need their own heat-resistant coating. We use Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour.

Glass gets its own product too. Smart View glass coating is in our 5-Year.

More on coatings and the prep behind them.

Some are decent spray sealants that last months, which is fine for what they are. The problem is when they’re sold as years of protection. Durability depends on the product and, even more, on the prep under it, which no bottle does for you.
You’re paying for decon, clay and paint correction before anything goes on, a coating that may only be sold to accredited installers, the labor to level it panel by panel, and a registered record. At ST6 the correction is included: 3-Year from $899, 5-Year $1,099, 9-Year $1,599.
No. Gtechniq releases Crystal Serum Ultra to accredited detailers only. Their reason: applied incorrectly, it can only be removed by wet sanding the paint.
It means Gtechniq has approved the shop to install its professional coatings. That access is what makes products like Crystal Serum Ultra and its nine-year manufacturer guarantee available at all.
Yes, but the old coating or sealant has to come off first, which means decon and polishing before the new coating can bond to bare paint.
No. Plenty of people do it well. Do the prep properly, coat in the shade on cool panels, and respect the cure time. Our paint correction guide covers the prep step by step.
No deposit to book. You pay after the work is finished and you have looked at it.
