01 / Work backward from departure
Separate the repair time from your travel deadline.
An eligible chip repair takes approximately 30 minutes while you wait at ST6. That is the repair duration, not a guaranteed arrival-to-departure time. If you have a fixed departure, call or text about your timing rather than assuming that every visit will fit a particular gap in your schedule.
We are open Monday–Saturday, 6am–8pm, and Sunday, 8am–6pm. The shop is at 2725 N Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs. All glass work is performed here; we do not come to a hotel, campsite, driveway or roadside location.
No appointment or hour’s notice is required for chip repair. An advance message can still be useful when you are organizing a trip. Tell us when you are hoping to leave, what damage you can see and whether it has changed. That starts a practical conversation without creating a guaranteed completion deadline.
02 / Inspect before assuming
A small-looking mark is not a travel clearance.
Whether damage is repairable depends on more than its visible diameter. Position, depth, spreading lines and condition all matter. A chip near an edge, in your viewing area or close to a camera housing may need a different decision from a similar-looking chip elsewhere.
We can discuss the information you provide, but an online description or photograph does not certify that your windshield is suitable for a long drive. If the damage obstructs your view or the glass is badly damaged, do not assume that driving to the shop is the right next step; arrange appropriate assistance.

03 / If the damage repairs
Know the cost and the likely result.
The first chip is $60 and each additional chip is $10. The work is performed in the existing windshield using repair equipment and resin. You can wait in the lobby rather than arrange a second trip to collect the vehicle after a day-long drop-off.
A repair can leave a faint visible mark. Ask about the expected appearance and the condition of your own damage before work begins. Repair is not a promise to make every impact disappear or a guarantee against every future rock strike.

04 / If the damage does not repair
Replacement is a separate decision.
A windshield that needs replacement is not a 30-minute chip-repair job. Replacement is quoted separately and performed in shop. The vehicle, required glass and work involved affect the conversation, including any applicable manufacturer requirements.
We do not guarantee that a windshield replacement can be completed before your planned departure. If the damage is beyond repair, discuss the actual options and timing before you commit to a route or departure schedule. A deadline cannot change what the glass needs.
For fresh damage, prompt assessment keeps the next decision informed. Some chips can change as they are exposed to driving conditions, moisture or temperature changes, but there is no reliable universal timeline for spreading. You can deal with the question today without being told that every chip will crack before tomorrow.

Can I get a chip repaired before leaving town today?

No. All ST6 glass work is in shop in Colorado Springs. We do not provide mobile glass service.
Does a chip inspection guarantee the glass is safe for my whole trip?
No. We assess the damage and explain the service options. A website answer or preliminary photo discussion is not a roadworthiness certification.
What if I need a replacement instead?
Replacement is separately quoted and performed in shop. The chip-repair price and approximate 30-minute duration do not apply to replacement.
What is the warranty on a paid windshield chip repair?
