Platinum Detail questions before you book.
How long does a Platinum Detail take?+
Four to six hours for a car or crossover. Larger vehicles, heavily soiled interiors and paint needing more machine time run longer, and we will tell you the realistic window when you book rather than quote a time we cannot keep.
What is the difference between Platinum Detail and Platinum Exterior?+
Platinum Exterior is exterior only — decontamination, a light 1-step machine correction and a ceramic sealer, at $349 flat. Platinum Detail adds the engine bay and a full interior shampoo with hot-water extraction, from $499, and its correction stage is the deeper single-stage pass. If the interior does not need work, Exterior saves you money; if it does, Platinum is the better buy.
How much correction does the single-stage pass actually do?+
It handles light-to-moderate swirls, haze and wash marring — real defect removal, not a filler that washes out. What it is not is a full multi-stage correction. Paint with heavier swirling, deeper scratching or oxidation needs our dedicated Paint Correction service, which runs by level: 1-Step from $399, 2-Step from $599, Advanced 3-Step from $899. Anything you can catch with a fingernail is through the clear coat and needs paint, not polish. We look first and tell you which it is.
Can you do paint correction outside at my house?+
Yes, with conditions. We bring our own lighting, power and water, but machine work needs space and shade or cover — direct Colorado sun on hot paint is bad for both the polish and the result. Tell us where the car will be when you book and we will tell you honestly if it will work.
How long does the ceramic-grade sealant last?+
Several months of gloss and beading with normal driving and safe washing. If you want 5 to 9 years instead, that is a Gtechniq ceramic coating — and Platinum Detail is the correct prep for one, since a coating goes on corrected, decontaminated paint.
Is the engine bay safe to clean?+
Yes, when it is done carefully. Electronics and intakes are covered, chemistry is controlled, and nothing is blasted with a pressure washer. The bay is cleaned, rinsed carefully and dressed to a satin finish rather than a wet-looking shine that attracts dust.
Do I need to pay a deposit?+
No deposit. You book the appointment, we do the work, and you pay when it is finished and you have looked at it under our lighting.
