Exterior service tiers
Three tiers. No confusion.
Fiberglass gel coat behaves nothing like automotive paint. It oxidises fast under constant sun and water, turning chalky and dull within a season or two of neglect. Which tier you need depends on how long it has been since the hull was last corrected — run your hand along it, and if chalk transfers, you are in Tier 2 or 3.

Every stage is decided by the hull in front of us rather than a fixed recipe. Clay only when the gel coat needs it, rotary only where DA will not get there, and a test panel before anything heavy touches the whole boat.
STEP 01 / WASH & SCUM LINE REMOVAL
Marine-Safe Wash and Waterline Treatment
Marine-safe wash top to bottom, then the waterline gets its own treatment — the scum line is mineral and algae residue bonded to the gel coat, and it does not come off with soap. Non-skid decking is scrubbed properly rather than skimmed over, because that texture is exactly where dirt and sunscreen collect.

Boat interior detailing
The interior takes what a car interior never does.
Sunscreen, fish residue, bait, and vinyl baking in direct sun all season. But trapped moisture is the real enemy — bilge areas, storage compartments and carpeted decks stay damp long after the boat is out of the water, which is exactly the environment mould and mildew need. Each interior tier is scoped to a different stage of that problem.

Interior is priced per linear foot exactly like the hull, so the tier you pick scales with the boat rather than being a flat rate that punishes a small one and undercharges a big one.

Colorado lakes are hard on gel coat.
At 6,000+ feet the UV does not forgive neglect — Colorado boats oxidise faster than coastal boats, and a hull left two seasons shows it. We come to the lake, the dock or the storage lot.

How much does boat detailing cost in Colorado Springs?

Why is boat detailing priced per foot?
Because length is the honest measure of how much hull there is to wash, correct and protect, and it means a 45-foot cruiser and an 18-foot bowrider are not quoted off the same guess. Tier picks the depth of work, length sets the scale, and the two multiply. You can check the number yourself before you ever call.
Do you detail boats at Lake Pueblo and Rampart Reservoir?
Yes — mobile service directly to your dock, marina slip or storage lot. We serve Lake Pueblo, Rampart Reservoir, Eleven Mile Reservoir, Antero Reservoir and Pueblo Reservoir, and we will also come to a trailered boat sitting in your own driveway.
Can severe gel coat oxidation be restored?
In most cases yes — unless the gel coat has worn completely through or is crazed, at which point polishing it further does more harm than good. Tier 3 uses rotary correction, heavy compound and wet sanding on the most severe hulls, and we always run a test panel first so you can see the result before the whole boat is committed.
How do I know which exterior tier I need?
Run your hand along the hull. If chalk transfers to your hand you are looking at Tier 2 or Tier 3 depending on how heavy the buildup is. If it comes away clean and you just want it maintained, Tier 1 is the right call. Send photos and we will confirm before you book rather than guessing on the day.
Does correction fix chalky gel coat permanently?
No, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something. Correction removes the oxidation that is on the hull now; gel coat will oxidise again under Colorado sun without protection. That is exactly why a sealant or ceramic coating goes on straight after the correction rather than being sold as an optional extra.
